Manger Throne

What kind of king would leave His throne
In heaven to make this earth His home
While men seek fame and great renowned
In loneliness, our king comes down

Jesus, Jesus, precious one
How we thank You that You've come
Jesus, Jesus precious one
A manger throne for God's own Son

You left the sound of angels praise
To come for men with unkind ways
And by this baby's helplessness
The power of nations is laid to rest

What kind of king would come so small
From glory to a humble stall
That dirty manger is my heart too
I'll make it a royal throne for You

My heart is a throne for God's own Son

Wonderful, Merciful Savior

Wonderful, merciful Saviour
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would've thought that a Lamb could
Rescue the souls of men
Oh, You rescue the souls of men

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts have
Hopelessly lost our way
Oh, we've hopelessly lost the way

You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for

Almighty, infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh, we're falling before Your throne

Its begun

Well, its officially Christmas party time. I went to my first one this past Saturday, the Flynn Class Party, and the next couple of weeks are full. As always, we played Dirty Santa, and I ended up with something that I'll re-gift at the next party. It's actually a pretty good gift, just not something I'll ever use.

me with my gift, not quite sure what was so funny

A few more shots of the action:

treat it like a temple

I just got home from helping my sister with research for her senior thesis. She's studying quadraplegics and effects of treatments, etc on their bodies during exercise. If you've ever heard of the movie Murderball, these are the guys.

The work was really stressful, keeping up with 12 guys in wheelchairs going all different directions. But overall, it was a blast. There were a few hard moments-seeing some of the guys struggling to keep up during workouts, but their attitudes are so great.

I think most of all I walked away feeling like a total loser. Here these guys are, with serious injuries or disabilities and they work so hard at keeping their bodies fit and find such joy in competing. And here I am, barely making myself get out of bed to run one day a week. I don't respect my body or treat my body in a way that honors what God has blessed me with.

Tonight, I feel intrigued and totally motivated, and praying the Lord will keep this night in my heart for a long time.
